Day 2 - Where Am I Gripping Control?

Bible Reading: Matthew 1:18-25

Beginning the Conversation

Joseph did not choose the situation in front of him. His plans changed, his reputation was at risk, and the path of obedience was not going to be easy to explain. Before we move too quickly toward what we should do, Tuesday gives us room to name what we are carrying. Journaling is not about producing a polished spiritual answer. It is a way of becoming honest enough to let Jesus lead us.

Journal Questions

  1. Where has life moved in a direction I did not plan?

  2. What outcome, relationship, reputation, or decision am I trying hardest to control?

  3. What am I afraid will happen if I place that situation in God's hands?

  4. What is one faithful step that is already clear, even if I do not know the entire plan?

Finish by writing one sentence that begins, 'Jesus, today I release...' Do not try to solve everything on the page. Name what is true, place it before Jesus, and ask Him for the next faithful step.
