40 Forward is a season we set aside annually to fast and pray as a church.

AUGUST 12TH - SEPTEMBER 20TH, 2025

AT THIS TIME EACH YEAR, WE SET APART

40 DAYS TO SEEK HIS PURPOSES

HERE’S WHY…

September marks the start of a new year for our church, and we are committed to seeking the Lord’s guidance and entering this new season with fresh revelation. This year, we are setting apart forty days for intentional prayer, asking God to shape our hearts and strengthen our faith. Our focus will be on the Book of Romans, allowing God’s Word to give us a well-supported, structured backbone for following Jesus.

These forty days are about eliminating distractions and creating space to hear from God. As we pray, we will invite Him to deepen our relationship with Him and with one another. We believe that as our church family prays together, God will renew us from the inside out and anchor us in the unshakable truth of His Word.

Less, not more.

We aren’t adding a new challenge to our already busy lives. 40 Forward is a season of removing distractions and prioritizing our attention on Christ.

Take time before we start to ask the Lord how he wants you to participate. What can you cut out? How can you structure your days to meet with Him? Be careful not to set your own expectations for how this 40 Forward should go. Simply make the time and keep your heart expectant and open to hear from Him.

Types of Fasts

  • In this type of fast, you consume only liquids-- typically water with light juices as an option. A full 40 day fast is not something to casually jump into. If this is your first time fasting, we recommend a partial or selective fast. Exercise wisdom and consult your healthcare provider if applicable.

  • This type of fast involves removing certain elements from your diet. One example of a selective fast is the Daniel Fast, during which you remove meat, sweets, and bread from your diet, consume water and juice for fluids, and eat fruits and vegetables for food.

  • This fast is sometimes called the “Jewish Fast” and involves abstaining from eating any type of food in the morning and afternoon. This can either correlate to specific times of the day, such as 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, or from sun-up to sun-down.

  • While fasting from food is important, removing addictive distractions like social media, screen time, and other habits or comforts can help make time for you to stay committed to Bible reading, prayer, and growing in Christ during this fast. We encourage you to include this element during 40FWD.
